Smoke Lanterns
Alt-country grit meets psychedelic folk. Meanjin / Brisbane.
About the band
Smoke Lanterns dwell at the crossroads of alt-country storytelling and psychedelic folk-rock, crafting music that feels both grounded and otherworldly. Rooted in raw songwriting and propelled by eddying guitars and textured atmospheres, their sound moves between dusty backroads and vast inner landscapes. The songs look at the simple, bittersweet moments that define us all, through the eyes of vocalists Skritch and Pete O'Brien, with Paul Watson on guitar and Chris McKillinit and Kasper Skou as the rhythm section. Between them they've played in Mary Trembles, Gota Cola, Tex Perkins and the Dark Horses, The Long Johns, Woolpit, Dubmarine and more.Music for late-night drives, solitary reflection, and the spaces in between.
